6 months old now and jabbed, flead and wormed as well as done so Benny and Jessy have had the freedom of the garden for the past couple of weeks. Chasing squirrels, getting stuck in the apple tree, getting stuck under the deck (Always the boy, his sister is no trouble and even climbed up to visit him, not once but thrice, while he cried from the top branches) and being scared of the big black Tom that keeps invading our garden.

Our door panels are too small for a standard catflap so it may have to be a customised one or through the wall but at the mo' they just come to the door and meow until they are let in.

Thing is they only come in to use the litter tray and grab a bit of food. I have tried leaving them out for really long periods but they eventually race in when called with their legs crossed and head straight for the litter.

It's in the lounge where they spend the night so any ideas on how to get then to use the great outdoors for their toilet needs. Cheers.

If there's freshly dug ground, they might be more inclined to use it. Though I'm surprised by why you want them to go outside - cat st in flower beds isn't nice.

Put the litter tray outside, and eventually get rid of it altogether.

Rather there than in my kitchen!

Cats love fresh soil; make a patch and if they don't use it they're not cats but probably some kind of rabbit.

Problem is you've now trained them to use a litter tray so yes, put it outside.

What they said smile

But you'll still need it in the Lounge overnight too, so tbh I'd not bother - as they get older they'll use outside & inside

We got our dogs to crap outside easily enough, simply by not letting them in the house, ever. biggrin
