The family have been calling him Wolfy since we decided to get one but I'm not keen on it although it does trip off he tongue easily.

It's an autralian cattle dog was thinking of some in like taz ( dog has been ruled out frown)

Any ideas?

Deefer, Roo, Rolf? My personal fave (thought I would never have the balls) would be to call the dog Fire or Murder - imagine walking through the park shouting his name!

Whatever name you choose try shouting it really loudly in a public place. If you get embarrassed pick another name. You will have to shout the dogs name across a field at some point and shouting "Tinkerbell" or such like will only make you die of embarrassment.

Alfie.

I wanted to call our king Charles one of the following:

Enzo
Issigonis
Spider
Ascona (as in cavalier mk2)
Turnbull (as in Bill - If he'd been a dog he'd have been a cavalier)
Shankley
Dumper
or
turbo

But we ended up calling him Alfie - Just like 85% of dogs that we meet when we are on the beach or in the dunes.

When I was a kid, some friends of the folks had two Irish Wolfhounds called B'gorra and B'Jasus.

My father (living in Norfolk) had a black labrador gun-dog called Shuck. Often mis-heard when calling his name...

I must admit, I do like the idea of calling dogs names like Tony/Chris/Paul/Andy etc

Loads of Australian towns suit dog names - Narooma, Noosa, Darwin, Townsville etc. Just hop onto Google maps and have a look, particularly in the outback where they get really odd.

And of course my favourite, Humpty Doo. smile
