How much should a 35 - 40 KG overweight adult lab get? He has only just started on this diet. He started yesterday just with chicken wings. He had 3 for breakfast and 3 for dinner. I'll build it up over time but any guidance is much appreciated.

There are lots of views on this. Usual rule is % of bodyweight (3-5%). If dog gets fat, reduce food.....

Are you on facebook? If so there are dedicated groups with guides etc.

If you can get hold of green tripe that is great.

I am on Facebook but never use it. I'll have a look but is 6 chicken wings (Daily) enough? Don't want the old chap starving. I remember the day he stopped having lunch and he was not impressed at all!

Ok there is a group called raw feeding UK, join them.

Wings would need to be weighed to see if they are enough. Whole carcasses can be better if you can get them (plenty of butchers sell them in 10kg boxes).

Your butcher may also sell/give trim/bones etc. If they will sell pluck that would be good - offal now and again is beneficial. Also the odd organic carrot - fed whole and raw..

But it is about weighing the food at the start.

Your dog will thank you for this.
