Pigeons are the bird world equivalent of the Tewkesbury mother with 11 children needing two council houses knocked together in terms of fecundity.
Are you sure you want to encourage them?
Out in Cyprus earlier this year, OH announced: "I went out onto the roof terrace and disturbed a bird on its nest. There are eggs in it."
MC: "Oh how sweet." (thinking it was a rare songbird or some such) "Let's leave it be and not use that terrace."

Thanks for the replies.
The reason I ask is that I'm helping someone and that means boarding up a broken window to a shed that has a few pigeon nests with chicks in.
I don't want to board it up, because the chicks will die.
If they only breed once a year I could wait till they forked off 'n' fledged.
If they breed all year then they might have to die. Something I really don't want to do.
I know they are only flying rats, but....

Be a bit careful there, pigeons are protected as per any other bird under the Wildlife & Countryside Act however there are a number of general/class licences that allow certain actions in certain situations in relation to them and some other limited species.
If you're not sure your actions fall under a general/class, call a licensed pest controller.

I'll let the first lot go, then board up. I can see 3 chicks that look nearly ready to fly. I'll board it up after that. Don't think the old birds are breeding anymore, with all the noise we've been making, just bringing up the already born.
Blimey, I'm off to the gaye thread.
Who'd of thunk, that flying rats would have me finkin!
Ps, is there a gaye thread
