Afternoon all,

I need some advice on best practice to wash a 1yr old cat, who hates water with a passion, he's walked into the house covered in.. I mean covered! In actual st, not sure if its his own or what but he stinks, I've kicked him out for now, but were travelling up to see the parents in 2 hours and i need to get him clean before we go, as he's staying in for the weekend!. Trust this to happen now ehh?

Thanks

Leave him. In two hours he will have licked it all off.

Wire cage + hose, think Stallone in First Blood.

Any other method is going to end up in a trip to A&E. The cat will of course get you back eventually, possibly by throwing a stone causing you to fall from a helicopter. Or maybe not.

1. First equip your self with some protective clothing.

2. Fill the bath up in readiness.

3. Collect cat

4. Drop cat in bath.

5. Retrieve soggy moggy from behind sofa.

6. Close the bathroom door this time!

7. Drop cat in bath.

8. Scrub cat vigorously.

9. Remove cat from bath and dry with towel.

10. Wait an indeterminate amount of time for the cat to stop giving you reproachful stares (1 to 2 weeks in my experience)

It took the OH to pin him down, and i was in there starkers hosing him down with the shower accompanied with some cat shampoo and voila 1 clean pussy, he definitely is avoiding me, so ill leave him for 2 days to forgive and forget haha

Without wishing to become too curious, why the actual heck would you wish to shower naked with a highly worked up thing with claws?

Drop cat in toilet. Close and sit on lid. Flush until smell goes. Open lid and take a picture of the cat.

A naked man furiously rubbing a wet pussy in the shower... This seems familiar

When i had to wash mine, i sat him in the bath and let it run all the time stroking him. Once the water had covered his feet, he settled.

If you can introduce them to the idea of washing from an earlier age, they become much less anxious about it.

Haha, sorry for the late reply, just arrived at the parents, to answer your question, he was well away from any valuables, plus i didn't want to ruin any clothes with ste over them, i did a risk assessment so all was ok, if he continues to get covered in crap, he will be a frequent visitor to the bathroom i think.
