We think there is something in the garden biting our dog. It's taken a while to decide it seems to happen when she goes in the garden. As soon as she's 'attacked' (which doesn't happen more than once or twice a week on average) she gets covered in lumps about 1/2" across & maybe 1/4" high. They always start at the rear of her body & go upwards the worse it gets. Any suggestions what could be doing it?

She's up to date on flea stuff (we use the drops on the back of the neck) and we've bathed her & washed her bedding so pretty sure it's nothing in the house.

A pic, incase it helps.

Possible grass allergy and she is coming out in hives? Or an allergy to something else? Does she itch the lumps? Do they bother her?

Best bet is to go to the vets if unsure
Edit - if you google 'dog allergy hives' and go to images it looks similar.

It won't be grass, we don't have any. It's patio outside, at least till we hopefully move soon.

We've googled hives in the past & I agree it looks similar, we can't work out the trigger though if that's what they are.

Classic hives. If still there this am you will need vet to treat. Can be triggered by all sorts eg stinging nettles

Thanks Ben. They go down in a few hours or overnight. Just wish we could find the trigger to stop it happening.

Hmm kind of makes sense, the first time they ever came up was visiting a sheep farm & she did get bitten by a sheep tick. Maybe that triggered it?
