Sorry to drag up something from ages ago, its been a while since I have looked at the thread. please dont take this the wrong way, I'm not having a go or telling you what to do with your own dog.
These pics of Lottie just worried me a bit.
Its good that you have seemingly anchored her in the car but please (for my squeamish sake more than yours maybe lol) buy her a proper harness for the job.
You wouldnt secure yourself in the car with the seatbelt around your neck. I can see its obviously been fine but I just keep thinking that with a sharp stop you could be looking at a bit of a gallows situation.
Even just braking hard to avoid some idiot I have fired my shepherd off the back seat, thanks to the harness she only got as far as the rear footwell and the load was spread over chest and shoulders.
Again please dont take offence, its just advice not a lecture.
Anyway to put the thread back on track I will introduce a new dog. This is Poppy my friend's Australian Shepherd about 10 months old now. Pic taken on our way back down from the summit of Snowdon.
You are absolutely correct and no offence taken.
It is vitally important that we are reminded how to ensure the safety of our dogs while they are in transit.
Since the photo was taken:
1. Super new harness purchased for Lottie, which she has no problem in being attached too.
2. Old Saab 9-3 Convertible sold.

My old JRT (Gromit) used to sit on the shelf behind the seats in my Midget, he had a proper harness tied off in the boot. Came in handy a few times. It is vitally important that we are reminded how to ensure the safety of our dogs while they are in transit.

Funniest thing was watching him read the road, he'd lean into corners while stood with a front foot on each seat even before I'd turned into the bend.

So Lottie is already for her holiday. I hope she travels the distance OK.It is vitally important that we are reminded how to ensure the safety of our dogs while they are in transit.

Lottie had a trim today (Wednesday) so her coat is shorter for the hot weather, hotels booked, paperwork/passports etc done and we are all ready for 0600hrs departure on Monday for Spain.
1,373 fun filled miles to Costa Blanca and this time next week we will be chilling by the pool:
Lottie loves being in the car, is looking forward to her holiday and hopefully has saved her pocket money and will treat us to a few Euros worth:
During last year's trip she developed a 'thing' with putting her head on the table after lunch/dinner.
Fortunately, everyone in Spain thought she was very cute and she got away with it.
Eurotunnel was great fun but she would not keep still enough for a decent photo:

RESSE - am I right in thinking that you're off to Moraira? I bloody love that place
Hi RouleurYes we are (can't bloody wait to go)!
Moraira feels like home to us and we love it too.
We went on honeymoon in 2000 and have been back every year since.
Pre-Lottie we took the Monarch flight from Birmingham to Alicante, but last year we drove for the first time.
Lottie's first trip to Moraira 2013 (the sunshine and blue sky looks especially good today (pouring with rain here in Shropshire)):
