Opinions noted. No more posts from me on PistonHeads.
Why's that? Opinions seem to universally say you were out of order letting your dog lick a plate in a restaurant, I don't think there are any opinions that say they no longer wish to see photos of what appears to be a very happy dog enjoying life with owners who clearly love it to bits. Can't see why that should be reason to no longer post.I've owned various cats and dogs since I left home in 1970, and before that my parents had a ginger tom. Each and every one got the plate to lick after a meal and I'm still here to tell the tale. So in other words Mr Moxey, opinions are not universally with you. Stop being so bleedin' precious.
If there wasn't a plate involved I'd call this a storm in a teacup

I don't know about the rest of you, but I prefer to go to restaurants where they wash the plates between diners

I'm not arsed in the slightest, either. I've owned various cats and dogs since I left home in 1970, and before that my parents had a ginger tom. If I didn't like seeing a dog lick a dinner plate, I wouldn't watch it.
My dog has a little lick of my pint every now and again before I get any of it.
Doesn't bother me.

I said they SEEMED to be universally saying it was out of order, which, until you posted, looked to be the case. I'm not sure why you think that is being precious.
Sorry, that remark might have been rather over the top but, as you are probably aware, many sections of PH are full of people who are convinced that there are only two ways to do things - their way and the wrong way...When I read your post that implied that everybody was in agreement against RESSE, and I for one certainly was not, that was when I "bit"

We had a Border Collie cross that would drink cold tea from any mug left about, cold tea! Now that is disgusting She often put her arm around me and slurred: "You're the bestest owner a dog could ever have - hic!!"

Same here. Lucky often 'washes up' for us before I do the dishes.I've owned various cats and dogs since I left home in 1970, and before that my parents had a ginger tom. The comments were fair. They weren't rude or abusive. Its a discussion forum, not everyone is going to love everything every other poster is doing, whether thats buying a lime green car, financing an audi or letting their dog lick a plate in a restaurant. It was just a rather bizarre 'toys out of the pram' reaction to say he/she won't post again.
