I agree on pairs. We had a solo pup and then got another when he was about 9 months old. Two just seems right.
if you have two dogs or even three as we do I think they are much less stressed out and always have a companion.I would have loved two but I would definitely have gone stark raving mad. He's a Kangal so a very inteligent breed and ridiculously stubborn and if you show any weakness he'll walk all over you. Two of them at their size would have been interesting to say the least.
We very seriously thought about getting him a rescue friend called Frankie about a year ago but Frankie was a very nervous dog who blew hot and cold so was just too unpredictable. He was a lovely looking Jack Russell that just couldn't get on with his brother.
I'd love to get him a play mate though so we shall see what he future holds.

Breezer has now been with us for a week.
A few minor issues but she's an awful good dog and settling in really really well.
Good looking dog. You can tell an lot about what your greyhound is thinking by the state of their ears A few minor issues but she's an awful good dog and settling in really really well.
Ourd can put them up, so they stick out horizontally. We call it semi interested ears Obviously if they are vertical and touching at the top, then something really exciting is happening!

good for you mate you cant go wrong with a rescue dog they know when a good opportunity turns up.
6 rescue dogs later and 18 years on I wouldn't have anything else.
That was pretty much a waste of time. They baulked at the idea of a rescue as they didn't know the full history of either of the dogs they were shown. Though they knew the dogs were both taken from living on a gypsy camp so there were gaps. We'd met at the vets and he was due an injection anyway so not a wasted trip at least. He's back home with me again.6 rescue dogs later and 18 years on I wouldn't have anything else.
re the points above, yeah i definitely agree about rescues. My two rescues are brilliant, they seem smarter than pet dogs. plus they seem more loyal, they know they're onto a winner when they finally have someone actually caring for them.

It's great that you foster these dogs. I just don't know how you can. I'd want to keep them all.re the points above, yeah i definitely agree about rescues. That chap looks a great dog.
Comments on the people who let him get like that would probably get me banned
My first dog had 3 good legs but nobody told him and he was beautiful and charming.
My second was an abused GS bh who was loyal and regal.
My third was a Bullmastiff who we rescued before he became a fighting Dog in a suburb of Liverpool he became the most wonderful friend a man could have,
Our fourth Suki still with us found herself in the RSPCA having bitten a few children. She has very sensitive ears very sore ears and she was just defending herself. She is as sweet as you could want a dog to be.
Our fifth we found in the RSPCA she was sectioned away from other Dogs and when we saw her in her kennel she just flew at us all teeth showing. She is the love of my life (dog wise don't tell the wife)I feel blessed that we met her. she is loyal and caring she is just afraid of new things.
Our latest one came to us at 6 weeks old rescued from a puppy farm and some how even at 6 weeks old out two girls accepted him as the Alpha dog its just incredible to see.
So I honestly believe in the old saying "no such thing as a bad Dog just a bad owner"

He's back with me right now.... I'll be sad when he goes but its all part of the game.
If anyones looking for a pet dog you might want to consider him ? We can and do often ship dogs to UK very often!
