When your two dogs look as happy as this on a sunny Christmas Day walk you know a sense of something non doggie people can never really comprehend. Sally our young springer of slightly indeterminate age and Poppy our Collie Cross of 14 years.

I had to say goodbye to my best friend today. Very unexpected as two days ago she was still being a nutter but she became very ill very quickly. It was the hardest thing I have had to do and I will miss her terribly but I know she knew it was time. Rest in peace Mills and thank you for the ten years we had together.
Feel for you, terrible timing as well (never a good time). 10 isn't that old for the breed either so even worse if not expected.

Just cuddled up on the sofa with mine and still tear up when thinking about our last boy who went 5 years ago; great breed to share time with.

May I introduce Brinkley, not mine but my sisters new dog , a happy accident between Springer and Clumber spaniels.
I get to spend lots of time with this nutter who at 2 1/2 months breaks loads of hearts.

Can I bore you with some more chat about rescue dogs ? Okay, thanks laugh

Seeing all these puppies and purebreds being treated great is awesome but seriously don't bypass the rescue dogs without even considering it. You can take a small or young one which means you miss out on the major issues (lets face it, nobody wants to put a 5 year old Pittbull in with their kid do they).

Yes, Reesse etc look awesome and they're clearly being brilliantly looked after. BUT they cost £100's of pounds, and taking one of them consigned a dog like this to death.

[Yes couldn't agree more meet Amber the big one a bit gypo but a lovely bh. she was found wondering the streets eventually took in by the Evesham and lurcher rescue people, I guess no good for poaching etc you can still see the odd fag burns on her just. She's a lovely girl and a good friend to Ruby.

I get the feeling the she cant believe her luck some times by the look on her face. My Mother and Father who live next door lost there rescued Alsatian through age so I was happy to help with some new company for the them who love her dearly.

I know for sure when I need a new four legged friend it will be a rescue animal.

O and before I forget both are now tucked up under a duvet with their respective owners.

Cheers

Pat.
