This is Neville, he's a standard wire hair Dachshund cross. He's a rescue and he's been with us for 3 weeks. Settling in very well, lovely little chap.

Neville is a great name for a dog. biggrin
Thanks smile

It has been a tough 3 weeks, 4 days after he arrived, my mini smooth Dachshund went down with back problems (again, he had surgery last year). He needs to be on crate rest and carried to toilet breaks for 8/10 weeks! My mini wire Dachshund has anxiety behaviours and still has the hump with Nevilles arrival. Neville needs a lot of exercise and training (including toilet training) so to say I have my hands full is an understatement. Thankfully he has a really sweet temperament, rather lively but a good boy and he is doing so well considering. On top of this we have just bought a huge 'project' house that I had to start project managing the week after he arrived! smile

I bought some clippers - our Jackapoo is subject to an amateur trim in the summer wink
Could you let me know how it goes (I have thought about trimming Lottie myself)?

Thanks smile
We did it last summer as she hates the heat. She's got a thin wire coat and doesn't shed so it *may* be easier than on a dog with an undercoat. My wife attempted a trim with scissors first, which I don't advise it unless you know what you're doing, she ended up with big 'lines' in her coat.

I then went out and got some clippers and just gave her a number 3 all over (apart from the face). I didn't bother with special dog clippers, they looked like regular ones painted red with a 3x markup. Spent about £12.

The aim was purely to cool her down, but I don't think the end result looked too bad.

Daisy is exhausted as she made a bid for freedom earlier and succeeded for an hour or so; she is not in my good books:

Barry has been a good boy, however:

Haven't posted here for a while.

Loki and Halo chillin

Loki earning his AWPD Bronze award

Loki looking for lunch

Taking it easy with pack off for lunch

He's also getting used to bikejoring but getting him to pass other dogs without saying hello is a challenge at the moment.

He's definitely doing better than the last time I posted him though smile

Took Harry for a nice walk along the river during the lovely lunch time sun we had today.

Whilst investigating the funny big white thing on the river (swan) he got a bit too close and fell in.

I think he quite enjoyed today's lesson if I'm honest. The only other water he's really seen is his drinking bowl or a bath (using the shower head)
