Easy way to find out if any dog has even the smallest amount of Mastiff in their DNA...

Put a sofa and a dogs bed in a room, then sit on the sofa. Get somebody to release the hound, bonus points if their name is Smithers.

If the dog sits on the dogs bed no Mastiff DNA is present.

If the dog climbs all over you and the sofa and tries to sleep on your lap crushing you half to death in the mistaken belief they're a lap dog then Mastiff DNA is present.

This test is proven to detect traces of Mastiff DNA down to 0.003%

Some of the above may not be strictly true
All Mastiff breeds are masters of slumbering at any given opportunity if you happen to be in the way well thas unfortunate and sometimes painful
They are lap dogs don't you know! Our Rotties are convinced they are lap dogs, sometimes both trying to sit on the same
Lap.

...what can I say but you must have very large poop bags.
Surely full-sized black rubble sacks and a sturdy shovel is the only option?!

I take a roll of 20 litre white bin bags. Now you're probably thinking that's OTT..and you'd be right but it ensures I have no hand to poop contact when picking up a 3lb dump.

Tasteful morning discussion hehe

That test also detects Staffy DNA.

Talking of Staffs, that one above treats his toys exactly like ours does.

rofl

Our American Bulldog isn't allowed on the furniture but if you're sat on the floor...

And he's HALF the size of that beauty of a Dane - we looked at 'normal' sized Danes & decided they were too large lol!

Can also confirm that the slightest bit of Mastiff ensures the sofa is their favourite place. [url]

I love to know this thread is always here so I can look at it when I'm feeling gloomy.

Never ceases to make me smile and feel that bit warmer inside.
