Lovely looking dog, I'm going to guess that there is some beagle in the mix as she/he looks quite similar to our collie/beagle cross.
Could be a good guess as there are a few beagles about. Just have no idea what they are a mixture of.

ETA: The other is black and white with similar markings if that helps anyone identify them.

Im quite envious of all you lot with your active dogs, that can hear you, and sometimes, even see you.......

Another hectic day in the life of an old Smooth.....

We've just adopted a couple of puppies in Greece, somebody found five on the side of the road and is trying to rehome them. Only thing is we aren't sure what they are, bit of an impulse adoption but we have had plenty of dogs so we are not worried on that front.

So, any ideas what they are?

Greek Harehound, theres a thread on here somewhere as someone else rescued 2 of them.

I was just going to say there's definitely some hound in there, with those markings and ears.

The two distinctive marks above his eyes must mean something. Only two breeds I know have those Rottweiler and Doberman. I'm sure there are more breeds with them but not that many?

Collies (generally the tri-colour) and some hounds (I'm thinking Saluki, but there may be others) are two more that spring to mind....

I'm not sure if they are hare hounds after reading the wiki link as her sister is white and it states they only come in black and tan.

They are lovely, whatever they are! smile Her sister looks a bit Pointer-y (certainly colour-wise)?

The litter of 5 that ours came from were all very different, some looked more collie and others more beagle and the colour mixes were huge too. Ours was the most collie like and some of the others looked almost like jack russels. Ours was the youngest and smallest of the pups and is now the biggest and she has changed a huge amount since we got her, going from nearly all black and white to having quite a lot of beagle brown showing through. Those 2 look great though, I bet they make great hound 'yowls' when they grow up smile

There are quite a few strays nearby and when they start barking the pups do give a bit of a pathetic howl hehe.

Oi oi!

I suspect there's more than one or two blokes who'd have the same expression were they sat in the same spot...
