Just fallen in love with this guy on a local rescue site.

Really want a pal for mine, but just not the right time frown
Give it a week. smile
Is it yours yet Spiffing?!
Sadly not, just not the right time, I'm sure he will get a superb home.

My Mum looks after mine when I'm at work and she is a full time carer for my Grandma who is a right handful, not fair on her to get another one and risk upsetting the balance between mine and hers, let alone the extra work a puppy brings. Plus her dog is 9 and I know she wants another one, but won't until she has the time to commit to it. It would be unfair on me to get one, although she has said that I should get one if I want to.

When the time is right I will get another one, sadly there will always be awesome dogs in rescue centres. For some reason I still check the local ones, even though I can't help them frown

+1, likes a lot.

You can help though; transport runs, fund raising, volunteering to walk the poor unfortunates that are stuck in kennels.

Fostering and/or adoption isn't right for everyone but there are many options available.

Apologies if this comes across as condensing.
Not at all, friends are very much involved in some breed specific rescue centres, so help out, mainly with training and socialising with people. But when you see dogs on rescue sites, especially this one I really wanted to get him out of the situation. But as I mentioned, his profile captures his fun character so he will be snapped up by a great home in no time biggrin

A friend came around on the weekend with her Boston Terrier, Frank. He strutted into our house without any nerves about entering another dog's domain, drank some of Ben's water and started playing with Ben's toys. Ben just stood there and watched, he didn't know what to make of this confident stranger.

After a long walk together, a joint swim in a pond and lots of playing with a tennis ball, they became best friends. When it was time for Frank to go home, Ben jumped in the car with him and really didn't want to get out:

Dogs are so funny.

And me - can't help but look (but OH says no more - boo!)

I used to volunteer dog-walk, which was really rewarding but I did occasionally (okay, often) fall in love and wish I could adopt them. I did manage to be sensible, though. The ones I really feel sorry for are the old dogs in rescue, especially those who have had homes; it must be so confusing for them frown

My three hounds - Wilhelm, Wolfgang and Neville had their photo taken by the Artful Dog in Guildford.

Makes me think of Duke Ellington's 'Black and Tan Fantasy' smile

My mum's Yorkie cross does that too. Topped it all by kicking Lucky off the sofa after 5 mins.

Thanks, they didn't hold that pose/stay that clean for long.....

Especially as there were a few million seagulls to put up:

Great photo. The middle one looks as though he had spotted the gulls by the look of his paw.
