Looking after Jura overnight. Loves to cover himself completely in his blanket.
An appropriate nam as his home is in Skye.

Got a text this morning from my mum to say she had to take her dog to the vets last night as he was in distress. Turns out he had cancer, something had burst and his stomach had filled with blood causing him heart problems. They had to put him down. He was only about 10. Gutted frown

The original thread from when my mum found him (guess imageshack took a dump);

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

It came as a shock because I thought we'd have a good few years left out of him yet. The last time I saw him was about two weeks ago when I popped round but he was outside and I was in a rush and didn't go out to greet him which I deeply regret now.

Sorry to hear your news - What a fantastic looking dog, almost looks like what my 2 would look like if they were blended into 1

Really sorry for your loss Oakey . If you thought about how much it hurts when a friend passes away you would think twice about getting a Dog but the time we have with them is so special and they leave us with such wonderful memories

Never be sad over a dog dying. it's your chance to improve another dogs life, that's what they would have wished for .....

Pictures of my dog on my dog walk at 6.45am

Guess what, he's bloody always running off. I enjoyed it though, aren't those woods magnificent?

You can be sad over the loss of a dear friend and still make room for more in time. In fact I would find it odd if we weren't.

Really sorry for your loss Oakey what a handsome dog he was, taken too early.

We started out in 1996 with our beloved Barney then came Izzy,Billy,Sukie,Roxie and Bobby all rescue dogs all very special. We always have 3 and its all because our first rescue dog Barney was such a gentleman and a beautiful soul. I often look at the photos because they are apart and as much as I regret Barney,Izzy and Billy's passing its out of respect for them that we now have Sukie,Roxie and Bobby.
we never set a time period before getting another Dog it just seems to happen.But its always very painful to lose a dear friend

He was a beautiful boy

I'm sorry his passing was so quick but it saved you some pain & worry.

He had a fabulous time with your Mum smile
