RioSyd - That shot of the three on the tree is the shot of the year imho....
wonderful picture, thank you for sharing
Thanks, they were trying to tell me to stop working in the garden and get their lunch. wonderful picture, thank you for sharing
Good luck to all the new dog owners and keep the photos coming
Nice hour walk - needs lead training as he pulls too much, but off the lead never more than 20ft away from me and always stopping to check where I am.
He found the local stream this morning and had a good splas about - not surprising really as he's a duck retriever...
Just need him to sniff out some truffles for me and I'm quids in

what a great looking dog.
if you don't mind me asking, what's the story about getting him at 12 months old?
i have been looking into this breed as i too have had a few dogless years since the passing of my GSP.

We'd been looking to get a pup but from good reputable dealers they're very hard to come by in the UK.
It's a small gene pool over here so most come from a line of a European dogs. (There's a nasty gene -LSD - that can be present so DNA testing going back a few generations is needed)
I did lots of research on a few pups I found but wasn't happy with gaps in the lineage, and was eventually put in touch with a breeder who had agreed to take this one back from his owner due to an unfortunate change of circumstances.
