Unfortunately, we recently had to have Dylan greyhound PTS as he had bone cancer which had spread to his lungs frown

I persuaded OH to visit a local rescue centre 'just for a look around' rolleyes and made the mistake of saying to the guy who was showing us around that I'd mainly had sighthounds and OH collies. He said 'Is that the kind of dog you're interested in, then? Because I might just have the perfect one for you....'

24 hours later, we had been homechecked and were back at the rescue to introduce him to our other dogs and bring him home. So here he is, Max - everything I said I wouldn't have - a saluki/collie cross puppy. Sorry about the quality of the photos:

He looks lovely.

Our Jemina is part Saluki/Collie cross (her mum was one) and her dad is a whippet: She's been hard work, but we're getting there with her. Shes 8 months old now, and about 95% house trained. Here she is with Pepper our 7 year old rescue staffy-cross:

hehe excellent, i cant even begin to comprehend the levels of lunacy that mixture would create. Good on you for taking in a lovely hound thumbup and sorry to hear about Dylan frown
Bad news about Dylan, I see the new guy wont be spoiled at all. Do I see a dark whippey bum in the last photo if so photo please.

My grandfather had a Staffy who would lie in the hearth and sparks from the open fire would singe her fur without her moving a muscle.

'The dog's burning again' was a fairly commonly heard phrase.
Remember years ago my parents dog laid in front of the fire all day and when she got up wobbled and fell over. I can only imagine she had heat stroke or something.

It isn't possible to just 'have a look around' a rescue centre, impossible!

We have three rescues, and are battling against getting a forth (I want a Rottie) they tug at your heart strings too much to ignore, if of course you love dogs. He looks lovely.

Daisy definately, Barry not so. I say first thing in the morning, it was actually first thing with the wife at around 10:00, they were fed by me at 6:30; they both tend to eat early, have an early morning wee and poo and then go back off for a laze about after breakfast.

Daisy is actually turning into a right lazy sod though, not sure if it is "the" Bull Dog thing of generally being lazy; she's now 4, or the cold weather which she does hate (along with rain).

Barry is generally up for anything no matter the weather but he's only a youngster and a terrier too!
