I know I'm slightly biased but here's an unashamed plug for fellow PH'er Major Fallout who has recently completed an oil painting of my dogs . Have a look in the lounge forum on the "this will make you giggle"thread, quite outstanding work and a great guy to deal with .

Our Doberman does the same, come 8pm or so he is spent and will either settle on the sofa to use your lap as a pillow or curl up in your lap in an armchair. We have had numerous big dogs and this is the only one that seems to have decided that sharing the furniture is the norm! He also does the two paws on your shoulders routine to greet you in the morning. As a Doberman I hadn't really expected him to be such as softie!

Ours has his own sofa now, just so he doesn't get onto the other unmarked furniture. He still needs to be wrapped in his cape of calm to fully go to sleep when he gets put into his bed in his cage, such a fierce breed lol smile

Can I just say that when the news in the world is particularly depressing this thread always cheers me up.

Dogs are brilliant aren't they.

Dogs are brilliant, oh so very, very much 'Yes'.

Our 'furry menace' is a bit excited this afternoon as she spied the Xmas decorations coming out:

A while back I posted a picture of Dax and his sister, Cariad, here is the update for Dax (now 5 1/2 months and suitably world weary...)
