I think your crappy phone pics look a lot better than the professional ones.

Not actually a photo of my dog, although one is a black & white hound..

A sight very familiar to many greyhound owners -

Love the dogs...love the names!

I don't know how anyone copes with two... in saying that I was already having a conversation about getting another in two years time.

We now wish we had got two with our previous Golden Retriever, Sunny.

These two, after a dodgy start, play so well together it's a joy to watch.

Okay, so my garden now resembles Salisbury Plain after a three day training exercise and when they decide to come into the house to play it's best just to go to the pub and let them get on with it, but I can live with that. thumbup

ETA: If you want to get a second for Freya, do it now, not in two years. yes

Because two pups can grow up together, play together, explore together, destroy your house and garden together, and establish themselves within your family together.

If Freya is given two years to establish herself and then you introduce another dog, it could be a lot more difficult (all just IMO of course, I'm no Vet).

There is also the added bonus that if you need to leave her at home on her own, she won't be, on her own. smile

I can understand those point...I'll have a think. In the back of my mind if I got another soonish, I don't think it would be much extra work...although I could be fooling myself completely with that assumption?

I'd say not so much extra work, just double the fun, and expense. biggrin

Only ever had 1 dog at a time.....had 2 for the last 18 months now.........so much better for the dogs to have a friend IMO.....had I realised I would have done it years ago.

Yes definitely good for the dogs too, to have a friend.

When we had our Pug we contemplated a friend for him but it took us so long to think about that he got to an age when we thought he was too old for us to introduce another one so he was always an only dog.

My general assessment is double the fun, quadruple the mess.

We had two, got the first as a rescue at about 4 or 5 and then added the second, who was about 10 months at the time, about 4 years later. We wanted a second that the first dog could show the ropes, they generally mucked in and shared very well. The idea was never to be 'dogless', and when the first dog died at the grand old age of 15 years old, the plan looked good. Sadly, however, his younger mate succumbed to lung cancer just over 12 months later and died rather young.

On the bright side, last month we got this fella:

^Me too. Lemmy was a strong contender for our new dog, but Mrs Digga wanted an F1 name (the last dog came to us with the name "Taz" which reminded her of Nuvolari) and the rugby from Murrayfield was on TV at the time, so Murray (Walker) it was! It's apt; everyone loves him.

I made the mistake of calling Lemmy, 'Lemster', once. Mrs Adenauer said I sounded like Alan Partridge and that she would leave me if I did it again. biggrin

I haven't.

rofl

Had I had the luxury of naming our first dog in a manner that truly suited his nature, I'd have called him Genghis. It would have been embarrassing being called at the vets, but he was a nutter.
