This is Pippa who will be taking over our house from the 22nd. It can't come around soon enough.

She is lovely. May you have many happy years with her as you did with Jackson.

Thank you. Do you have any visitors at the moment?

Yes, Coco, Willow and Maisie came yesterday for 2 weeks. I had the 2 Norfolk cross Schitzu last year but not the 14 year old Labrador. She is the other family member who could not stay with the owners Father in law this time.
Friends have kept me going with their dogs since I lost my dear Holly. (Just over 2 years now)😥

Wow, two years. I realised earlier that it's just about six months since Jackson passed away, it flies by. It's great for you that you have regular canine company; might you get another one of your own?

No ,I don''t think so, it is the thought of losin another one.
Four of the ones I have looked after in the last 2 years have passed away too but it was not quite so heartbreaking as when I lost Holly.
Lola and Rebus are the most frequent visitors. My domestic appliance repair man called this week and he had lost his spaniel at 18 years old but had now got a lovely 2 year old and when he realised I dogsit asked If I would have him anytime. So another to add hopefully

How do you tell a dog ,removing his dew claws is for his own good,
24 hrs later he still feels sorry for him self

Our spaniel gets her back ones caught if she wears a collar (and scratches her ears) so she doesn't wear a collar now.
We've thought about getting them removed, are there any other reasons for getting them removed ?

The only reason is that as well as being of no use to the dog is that of easily getting caught and torn, leading to the dog nibbling them and causing even more irritation.
Bank on around £650 ,if you have insurance, next time the claws are damaged, claim for removal, our insurance covered the cost less excess

2hrs of running around on their walk this morning, followed by a day in the garden and I think we finally broke the dogs. For a bit anyway (not so easy to do to Mabel, she is definitely a bit more energy than many whippets we know!!)

Rubbish camera angle. It wouldn't let me post in its original format. Looked much better the other way up!! (looks almost rude now!)
