Oh yes.

Applaws dried is 80% proper meat, the rest veg. What cats should eat, imho.

Although Bob as a neutered male gets mostly wet food: Lily's Kitchen Organic.

This is wet. Or it was. Chicken and brown rice. They also do a pumpkin one I think.

Going to try him with a few more. I like the fact it's identifiable lumps rather than Whiskas which is just pink lumps. He used to waste a lot of the Whiskas as well.

It might be too late for that, last night he stole the duvet off my bed so rather than move him I got the summer duvet out smile

Tonight after giving Loki his dinner he promptly threw it all up!

Now I know cats are sometimes sick to get rid of hairballs but I couldnt see any hair. Could it be because he is nervous? I left him alone in case he was stressed and he was absolutely fine. In fact he even came downstairs for a bit but went off back upstairs. I dont watch him while he eats as I think he prefers to do it on his own.

I guess my question is how do I know the difference between random vomiting and something more serious? I checked the vomit and it was entirely made up of his dinner. No blood or hair. Would it be possible the food disagreed with him?

He had a packet of Whiskas tonight, it was a lick and chew one but he had only eaten about half when he was sick so I threw it all away.

Probably eating too quickly, but if it continues, take him to a vet.

Cats can be fat little gits at times. Mine were both known to eat too quickly.

This morning I gave him his breakfast and no vomiting. He doesnt seem sick. OK I have only had him a week but he seems the same today as he has done every other day so far.

He does seem attracted to things that are the opposite colour to him!

Almost certainly down to eating too quickly.

-Jim, expert cat vomit analyser (4 long haired cats, of the food bolting, hairball producing, attention we variety)

BTW, you'll know a hairball when you see it. It doesn't look like hair, unless you get close.

When I first got Bob, he'd bolt his food and then sick it up almost immediately, but he hasn't done that in ages.

I think it was the change in food from crap stuff at the cat shelter to decent stuff with me. He's a chow hound anyway, which I think is because he was a stray. They're never entirely sure where their next meal is coming from, so will over-eat given half a chance.

I was thinking, should I put less food down for him? Maybe half a sachet then or should I just see if he sorts himself out?

Not a bad idea, we usually do this for our cat. If she is in greedy mode she will eat too fast and regurgitate it shortly after!! She is prone to hairballs aswell being long hair but this usually means a pile of vomit being found somewhere rather than the immediate regurge!! She will do it with all types of food expensive and cheap but will go days and not have a problem then a few days where she does!!

He is getting more confident. To be honest I'm not in a huge rush so can go at his pace.

My local pet shop gave me a packet of Applaws to try. Apparently it's very good for him. I thought it smelt disgusting but apparently not to a cat as he ate the lot.
Fed my 2 new kittens on this from the week we got them in Aug last year, They love it a lot, like 7.5 kgs a month a lot. Zooplus are the cheapest at £36 for 7.5 kgs delivered.

Moglet easts his food (Applaws) so fast sometimes you would think somebody was going to knick it off him. 10 mins later he chunders it all back up undigested then Millie dives in and eats it up if you don't clean it up quick enough - dirty kittens!

Ars you really getting through 7.5kg/month!! What breeds are they, I only ask as I'd expect it too last nearer 2 months.

I got the applaws wet food not the biscuits. I didn't know they did biscuits

My family have always avoided dry food for the cats as they say it can cause urinary issues so I went for wet food. I do give him a handful of biscuits a day for when I am out but his main meals are wet food

A mixture is ok and ensure he doesn't get overweight.
