I got the applaws wet food not the biscuits. I didn't know they did biscuits

My family have always avoided dry food for the cats as they say it can cause urinary issues so I went for wet food. I do give him a handful of biscuits a day for when I am out but his main meals are wet food
That's what we do too, and for the same reason.

Bob gets one tray of Lily's Kitchen wet food a day, plus 20g Applaws biscuits.

Neutered male cats shouldn't get exclusively dry food as they can be prone to urinary blockages.

I give him the biscuits for his teeth, though I don't know why I'm worrying since the past two evenings he's chomped through an entire rabbit - fur, bones, the lot. If his teeth aren't clean after that... rolleyes

Mine always eat the lot apart from the eyes. They tend to sleep for a while after.

He'd have to go some to find a rabbit! There's a nature reserve at the back of my house but I don't think there's any rabbits. He can probably get his fill of rats though.

He has pretty much moved downstairs now. He has been sleeping in the wardrobe again though. Going to have to remember to shut it, or buy white suits. Since I'm not John Barnes I think I'll have to remember to shut the door

He probably won't eat the rats. Mine don't!

Stupid question but how high should the cat flap be?

About 6" off the ground, i.e. at the approx height of their bodies when walking. Usually, you're bounded by the bottom horizontal piece of the door being structural, so you end up placing the flap in the panel above this.

Cats are meant to be graceful I always thought. So why is it when he is running around upstairs it sounds like he is going to come through the ceiling!

And why does he run around like he's batst mental.

Couple more questions and accept this might be a "because cat" thing again but he does 2 odd things I've not noticed before

He tried to bury his food dish sometimes, on a wooden floor. It's like he does in his litter but with his food bowl

Why does he drop any toys I give him in his water dish when I'm not around. Is this some sort of punishment because he is pissed off at me

No idea but Moglet does both things too. Every morning his fuzzy bug ends up in the water bowl. He also pulls the eyes and anteni off the fuzzy bugs as well. Weird kittens!

This morning he was sick again so as he was going for his follow up jab I asked the vet about it to check that he was ok. They checked his gums and some other things and there is nothing that would indicate a health issue. He has lost a bit of weight since I got him but nothing they were concerned about. He was 50g lighter over a month since his last vaccination.

They did give me some other food to try for a couple of days which is for sensitive stomachs as they said it may be that there is some continuing irritation or something.

He didnt want to go in his box to go to the vets. He was hissing and all sorts. Then he was fine at the vets!

Can I ask is he being sick or regurgitating, there is a difference. Proper vomiting would suggest gut issues, regurge usually indicates bolted food.

Have you read the classic post regarding getting a cat in to a Celica to take it to the vets? Brilliant bit of PH that, I'll see if I can find it.

He is having a "mad half hour". Funny to watch. One of ours does this in the garden and goes sprinting up a tree, then down and across the lawn and up our grape wine then back down the lawn and back up a different tree.

However, sometimes mad half hour takes place when two cats are in the house, which means they just go mental all around the place sprinting around. The dogs just kind of head for cover...

As for puking, what kind of puking? Is it whole lumps of cat food coming back up? Stupid question but you made sure it isn't a hairball?

Not at all. Vomiting generally occurs a while after eating or bares no relation to eating. Regurgitated food usually is immediately after eating like a minute after, tends to be less effort involved in the whole action aswell! Sometimes a hairball can be involved and cause either reaction!

That even made it in to the print version of PH. Ahh the innocence I had before cats....

We put cat and box in porch. Then use a coat to hurd the cat until it's only option is the box. After the vet stabs them a few times suddenly they can't wait to get in it. Furry pests they are!
