As title I know my dog has conjunctivitis, without paying the vet tax what's the best treatment?
Thanks in advance.

How long has it been going on for? What are the symptoms?

If just last day you could bathe in boiled then cooled water for a couple days or use Optrex, if that makes no difference or is worse by tomorrow it will be a vet trip, there is no over the counter medicated treatment for conjunctivitis in dogs. Plus you don't want to mess around with eye problems.

It's only been a couple of days and very mild. Will give the optrex a go thanks.

30 years ago when when my first dog had this the vet would prescribe Golden Eye Ointment.

Then they changed the rules on using "human" medication unless specifically tested on animals. rolleyes

It's not even hidden these days, Maxitrol goes out in the same box regardless of whether you have 2 legs or 4!
