I really really hate my spaniel these days. It has started to wake up at 5:30 am, prior to this it was 6:30am. It now barks, howls or rattles the doors so you know its awake. I get up and take them for walkies, feed them and have a little play with them. By 7AM the bloody thing goes back to sleep till 10. I hate it! Anyone want a part trained, early rising working cocker spaniel?

Only kidding ... for the mean time.

Lol at the OP.

My two seem to have followed me into my bad ways and sleep until about 9:00 a.m. But, they do go out for their last walk (first walk?) at about 4:00a.m.!

Phoebe (black lab) has been on steroids for the past few weeks and she was drinking gallons every day and of course, weeing the same. Every bloody hour, day and night for a fortnight gets really wearing!

Cat wakes up at 5am every morning. Wakes me up by shouting as loud as possible or eating the phone charger with the phone still attached to it if that doesn't work. Gets chased down the stairs by me in a rage and given a random, bleary eyed quantity of food, usually on the floor next to the bowl then buggers off through the cat flap.

This is EVERY day. I get up at 6 anyway so I used to enjoy that extra hour in bed.

Yep, have exactly the same with Gary. Although I try and lock him in the kitchen but the wiley little git has learned to hang off the door handle by his front paws, jig back and forth thus opening the door then scoots upstairs and tries to burrow into my bedroom whilst 'singing'.

If I leave him out he perches himself on the bonnet of the Jag and hollers at me constantly through the usually open bedroom window again at daft o'clock. I'm gonna have to sort that as the paw prints all over the car are doing my head. Hmmm since Jag stopped putting the leaper on the bonnet I can think of a suitable hood ornament if he doesn't quit it..!!

I get the 5AM wake up call from the boys and then after Harley is sure I'm awake he jumps on the bed, curls up next to me and goes to sleep until the alarm goes off 6:30. Bob uses the hour and a half to either go outside or go back to bed. They are like my little alarm clocks, I just wish I could set them to 06.30 to start with smile

I can't figure out if our pets have hidden alarm clocks somewhere.

Soon as I find the spaniels one it's going into the bin.

For a while Herbie (Greyhound) would happily sleep till 7am which was fine, but now he tends to wine from about 6.30 and sometimes earlier, which is tough going frown

The only solution I've found on the net is let them wine till the time you want to come down and keep doing that. Its harder than it sounds frown

My 3 year old collie is incredibly lazy, he won't even open an eye when I get up to go to work at 3-4am and the missus has to wake him up at 7.30 before she leaves for work. I'd expect the opposite as he is hyperactive when he's awake.
He also goes up to bed before us (he's got a bed in our room)

Our cat waits until I wake up and grab the tablet to check my emails, then she jumps up on the bed curls up and goes to sleep. Meaning I have to climb over either her, the Mrs or wriggle out of the bottom of the bed to get up and go to work biggrin

It all depends how busy he was the day before.

Often, I wake him up at 8ish and he grumbles and moans and tries to go back to sleep. I just clip the lead on him and coax him towards the door for his walk. Once he's on his walk he doesn't want to come home.

Other days he's sat at the door at 7:30am scratching at it to get our attention.

Last Saturday he absolutely would not budge until 11am. Funny sod really...

Our 3 year old Border Terrier must have been a student in a previous life - she'll happily lie in to gone 9am with the house bustling around her and always has done.

My OH is usually up around 6am to go and feed/ride her horse - if she's lucky the dog will wag its tail at her and maybe turn over for a tummy tickle. Dog is straight back into sleep mode when that stops though.

We sometimes look after our dog's sister and auntie - they're much earlier risers and "amusingly" the older one will pad round to my side of the bed give one loud, high pitched yip at around 5.30 am to be let out for a wee!

My 2 year old Parsons Jack Russell will wake up around 8.30am and then stay curled up in bed until about 9am when he gets up and the will proceed to follow you and harass you until you take him out for a walk. It's like a switch has been flicked in his head and he decides that he wants a walk right now. So pretty much every day we are out walking by 9.05am.

Puppies around 6am. Adults won't get up until about 9am. Cats usually want attention at 4am or so then back to sleep.

Daisy (Frenchie) gets up around when we do, she sleeps on the bed with us, for a while she was waking me up at around 4:30 for a piss, which was a pain in the arse however she seems to have grown out of it.

Jazzy (Tortoishell) is out at night; we only ever see her when she wants food, I hear her miaowing at the front door when I get up at around 7:00.

Our Corgi cross has gone senile and gets us up about 3:30. Stays out for about an hour then creeps back in again. Then goes out again about 5:30. I think the daft moo is getting her nights mixed up with day.

Our Cavalier is deaf so a nuclear bomb would not wake him.
