I know there are a couple of types and I will just spell the Belgian part of the name wrong anyway.

I was just was wondering what they are like to live with, their personality etc. From what I have read on the net they seem very similar in temperament to my Border Terrier, also some characteristics of my French Bulldog, but I wanted to find out from someone who owns one, or has in the past.

Question 2: Anyone know of someone reputable who has puppies for sale? I am not interested in some puppy farmer with inflated prices trying to take the mick. I want someone KC registered with paperwork to prove.

Many thanks

My neighbour has a couple Griffon Nivernais. They are reasonably calm dogs suitable for the French way of shooting. When excited they seem to howl a bit and seem a bit aloof. They are capable of running long distances.

I have 2 Basset Fauve de Bretagne, which according to wikipedia are part of the griffon group of dogs. This was news to me.

If they're not on your list then I'll stop right here.
Otherwise let me know and I can give you some pointers and also direct you to a very good breeder.

I dont have one but a Korthals griffon, very much like a GWP quite rare in the UK though

Thanks, I appreciate the info

They are sweet dogs. Friends of mine have had the same dogs for years but 2 got killed, both ran off and one got shot by a farmer and the other hit by a train. I want dogs I can let off the lead and not have to worry about it running off and also be biddable when I call it.

I am sure they work well for you, but not for us I’m afraid.

Griffon Bruxellois is what we are really looking for, or the othe variations of the same.

Thanks again

Yep, you've got their characters nailed there. Biddable they ain't, but they're very good natured with lots of character.
