Puppy deposit question

Great looking dog that

We've just been going through similar and spoke to a lot of breeders and got mixed replies. Some saying stuff that screamed puppy farm and some that were complete lunatics. Eventually after a lot of looking we found a KC Assured breeder and made contact with them. I got pretty much interviewed on the phone but they agreed to let us come and have a look. No request for a deposit before and we spent a good while there speaking about the breed and how best look after it when we collect in the new year.

The breeder didn't let us pick as 1 of the 2 bhes in the litter had already been spoken for by another family so we get the other one. We're happy with that because they're both perfect and if they turn out like the parents and grandparents we'll be over the moon. We paid a deposit and left very happy.

Breeder is giving us a really good info pack with the dog so we can monitor her development and as long as we need to we can call our them for help and advice.

I can see why some breeders get funny because they want their dogs to go to good homes and also don't run a petting zoo.
