The mower won't pck up the pooh but if set to the right height it will make the problem go away quicker.
Also the countryside
It isn't 6 foot deep in animal crap therefore something makes the crap go away.
We have 2 acres 3 dogs and one mower
We never lift crap and we are no knee deep in st
A strimmers the answer, speads it everywhere and I mean everywhereAlso the countryside

And we live in the country, our village sometimes seems knee deep in horse st
I have a large garden and a poo machine
I just ignore the poo in most of the garden, only pick it on from grass near patio
With a larger lawn it will be a bit more ruf and ready, I just run it over with the mower unless it's fresh
When I was a kid dad trained our staffy to poo in a hole he'd dug!

Does your dog run around outside? Does your dog come in the house?
If so how do you know he isn't running through it and then bringing it in the house?

He's free range, so in and out all day long. I didn't think dogs trod in ste, certainly not at low speed anyway
He tends to go roughly in the same areas each time so not sure if that helps him plot his turd map in his mind
Don't think I've ever known our own dogs from childhood to know to bring turd in on their feet
Train them to use an area. We have a decent size garden. With our last dog even though we didn't train him straight away we did successfully teach him to use one area. I used a very low fence (few inches) and cornered an area off. This became his toilet area and we cleaned it up every couple days. Meant less chance of our young lad stepping/ falling in faeces.
Our garden is a bit upside down at the mo, so not been able to do this with our current dog but we are planning to reinstate the idea. Good thing is our 4.5yrs old is very good at the doing a poo spot for us !

My 12 year old is good at spotting them as well. Picking them up? Not so good.
Seems to have awarded himself more of a 'director of operations' role by strolling round the garden, stopping, pointing and yelling "Poo!" before wandering off again.
What makes it worse is that afterwards he'll confidently state that 'he' cleared the garden of stray dog poos!

The Guide Dogs set-up is called a Spending Pen. Helps the owner in knowing exactly were the dog has done its business. My friends Guide Dog is fussy, hated the concrete so they had to put fake grass in it!
Basicy the same as our plan I think. We put Lucky in her Pen when she first goes out & gets told to poo. Once she's done we let her out to play. Didn't take long for her to learn & just go straight into the pen to poo without our intervention.Turn7 said:
My experience is that the dogs will quickly find a smallish area they like to use - not 100% but usually 80%ish....makes life a bit easier.
Can you have a word with logan please. hes seems to have missed this lesson.never even thought about guides dogs for the blind and this issue. must be a real challenge.
