Apologies in advance for the Daily Fail link, but this chaps column is spot on:

I don't even have a dog, but the sheer stupidity of this legislation makes me angry

It's a daily mail link so the faux outrage amuses me. Plus you have to question the logic of any man who let's a dog lick his face!

Anyway if it means there is now powers to stop a dog that barks all fking day then I'm all for it!

Also if an owner has terrible recall over Its dog then alot of people see that as an issue.

The thing is you know the only people who will be punished will be those who's dogs are perhaps a little 'spirited'.
This will not stop those people who use dogs as weapons, to intimidate or treat them poorly as the police and courts are scared to go after these people and only pick on easy targets.

I agree something needs to be done. Dog ID cards maybe but the police/wardens need to enforce it and check owners have the documentation.. but they wont.

Why out of interest? Dogs tongues are pretty clean places I thought due to the antiseptic, certainly cleaner than a humans anyway. Take it you've never kissed another human? Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I've always understood. I allow my dog to lick me and I'm fit and healthy and rarely off sick unlike all these clean'o'phobes in my work place who pick up bugs like i pick up my dogs mess.

For a supposed animal loving country, we seem to act like we hate them and want to stop people having them.

Jesus, must stop reading Daily Mail comments. But they are like crack.

It is a little worrying that a lot of dogs could be classed as dangerous now.

Mine included. He will chase and growl cats out of HIS garden. What a naughty boy rolleyes

lovely bit of staffy stereotyping by that rag of a paper as usual

ruddy cretins wouldn't know a dangerous dog if it bit them on the backside
