Meet Norman.

His coat was ratty and full of flea dirt since he'd been turfed out in all weathers to fend for himself since 'he upset his owners dog'.

Horrible former owner tried to claim that he didn't groom himself 'since he was feral'.

I've yet to see any evidence of that, just a lovely sweet cat who's been starved of affection, and in need of a square meal.

The vet has confirmed he has calicivirus (cat flu to you and me) but thinks that with warmth and supportive nutrition he should be able to fight it off.

Every day he looks better, and is slowly coming out of his shell. The cost of vet treatment is a Christmas present to the OH and myself.

Merry Christmas to us. smile

Not seen the cat threads before but we have 6 cats. 3 are recent kittens which were meant to be 1 but of course they ended up coming as a 3some. 1 cat is bought and the other 2 just arrived at different times and now are "ours". We did the micro chip thing and 1 had it fitted and we even took it to the owner but they didnt seem bothered and a few days later Macey walked back into our home which is about a mile away from her owners.
Fenton (named after the runaway dog!) just turned up and made himself at home and with no chip he stayed on. We moved about 4 months ago to the other end of the village and during the day he will stay around the vicinity of the house but at night makes the 1 mile trip back to our old place. Done this now about 8 times. Since we have had the kittens this has made him take up parental duties and he stays at home now.
Funny old things these cat creatures!!
