Our two year old Frenchie has recently; in the last week, started weeing indoors.

She has her usual morning walk, is let out during the day for wees and has her walk in the evening, absolutely nothing has changed in her routine or at home she has just decided to start weeing indoors, even after she has been on a walk and had a wee, however what is odd is the other day the wife was off work ill and Daisy sat with her all day and refused to go out but didn't wee at all, when I took her out for a walk she did a massive one so she can obviously hold on.

Early this morning she woke me at about 5:00 am to be let out for a wee, she went out and I know she went into the garden as she came back wet from the rain, however this morning when the wife got up she noticed that she had wee'd on the duvet.

The only thing that I can think of is the wife has been off work the most of last week as she has been ill, could Daisy be a bit miffed with that?

Any other ideas why this might be happening, oh and if it makes a difference we have had her a year.

I am not a dog owner but I would head to the vets to make sure there are no medical reasons for the change. Then look at behavioural stuff. I am sure more knowledgeable folk than me will be along shortly though.

Could it be the weather?

Semi serious as our 4 year old Irish Terrier has just started doing the same.

Interesting.

Her personality, temperament etc are all the same; just as bonkers and fun as always, which makes me think that she isn't ill or has an infection, she is drinking and eating fine aswell.

Always rule out medical first then seek behavioural such as cold weather (so put a coat on her and go out with her) to suddenly start at 2yrs seems a bit odd that it's weather related.

Possibly a UTI? Might be worth some cranberry juice.

Well, I came home from work last night, went upstairs to change and Daisy followed me up; as she always does, as I went to go out of the room she squatted and did a big wee on the carpet infront of me.

I let her stay on the bed overnight and she didn't wee at all, this morning she had breakfast and then hung around by the front door giving me "the look" so I let her out for her morning wee, which she did and it was absolutely hammering down, but she went out on her own accord

So far today there have been no accidents, maybe whatever it was has sorted itself out, oh I gave her a treat when she got back in from her morning wee and made a big of a fuss out of her.

Amber has never done it in front of us... Alarm bells would be ringing if she did.
