Mine just likes normal stuff, sticks, balls. maybe the odd bit of plastic pipe if found up the lane.

Met a lady with a golden retriever today it had a paving block. Apparently liked to carry it and not give it up!

Walked our lab bailey once and he carried a red bull can around for nearly an hour, had to stop him bringing it in the house laugh

Not odd but my German Shepherd just has to have a stick in her mouth before setting off for her walk...it's actually really cute.

A fir cone.... always picks one up in the same place... and absolutely won't go to bed without his favourite toy.... ignores it most of the day but bedtime he will whine and whimper till he has it.

My girlfriends Labrador likes to carry his own lead on a walk.

Conversely, my old lab refused to leave the house when we tried putting a jacket on him! Bloody image conscious dog.

A few years ago now, unfortunately before the advent of camera phones our EBT Eva found a concrete kerb stone in a local brook. It was about 18 inches long and the standard kerb height plus the bit that goes underground - a pretty massive object.

She wanted to take it home. I let her carry it round the park for a while before distracting her with a stick - I think it weighed more than she did!

Candy (Much missed Golden Retriever) would carry bricks/ rocks/ stones with her.
She often swallowed stones or pebbles for unknown reasons

Molly (Black Lab) finds the biggest heaviest branch she can find and will carry it until there is only a small twig left, due to her dropping it and picking up one of the pieces, trying to walk between two walls and snapping bits off etc.

Never fails to amuse when our dog used to carry her huge long stick and then get trapped between the wood posts of a footbridge / stile. Stubborn dog would not follow until we twisted her head 90 degrees to fit smile

Our Bassett picked up a Matchbox Toyota Hilux monster truck from somewhere. He now keeps it by the front door, takes it on the 1st 100m of his walk, drops it, then picks it up on the way back past to put back by the door. He's had it about a month but I've not seen it since it snowed on Sunday. Hoping reappears when it's all melted.

hehe

In our local park there is a white Staffy who turns up with the kids football team. He spends his time sat under a bush chewing a paving slab. Over a couple of months I've seen it go from full size to about 4" square.

We used to have that. I had a Burmise x collie as a kid & she had a kitten. She found it in the farm over the back fence & mothered it, we've even got a pic of the kitten trying to suckle. The cat always came for walks with her.
