Puppy pics are a must!

Arthor has been a PITA to be honest going through several “phases” which we’ve cracked (food possessive, water possessive, toy possessive) now he’s crate possessive! Bloody thing. But he’s awesome out and about and in general.

We’ve got a dog trainer who gives us work to break his possessive cycles and all of a sudden he’s fine again!

It’s a marathon not a sprint.

We had another Bully called Vinnie stay in our B&B this week, he was ace!

Vinnie:

Not posted for a while. Took Frankie to the beach a week ago as she loves to play in the sand. It's the most energetic she's been in a long while! She turns 7 this year, how time flies.

Hahaha, that's so Bully! I had to drag my first Bully 'Bernard' through the park like that once, then throw him over my shoulder to walk home. No wonder I've got a bad back!

biggrin
Frankie gets regular shoulder rides.

There is one particular field I drive her to (there's no chance she will walk there), I pull up and we walk round, well I walk and Frankie goes bonkers for an hour. Shes very active on an open field strangely. When I want to go home she somehow knows and will not walk in the direction of the car. So i clip her lead on and down she goes on to her belly doing her stubborn comando crawl, then throwing herself onto her back and flailing. Every single time!

It's the same in shops, she never wants to leave and often embarrasses me. Other people find it hilarious though smile

Heading to the exit, luckily something caught her eye

Those videos are hilarious! Arthor does the same (daily) when we leave the beach. We call it “dragsies”

I thought I'd add my experience of owning a 8.5 year old female Miniature after reading the other posts. She's a brilliant dog and excellent companion, she's off the lead 80% of the time and has never looked at a sheep, lamb etc. As someone else said way up the thread, she's lazy, she's energetic, she's complex, she's straightforward, there's no way I can sum up her character in a couple of sentences. In terms of exercise she's a different dog to how she was at 2, 3, 4 years old, she'll happily do one lap of the local park but that's about it, the days of doing 4 miles+ are long gone, the weather at the moment isn't helping that. Thankfully she's been a very healthy dog apart from self inflicted injuries, she's pulled out two nails, cut a leg quite badly, had the same operation twice to remove parts of toys she's eaten and knocked out one of her own teeth. I reckon I've got her for another 4 years at most so I treasure spending time together, even though she's infuriating at times. Would I have another, absolutely, but I'll have a long break as as an individual she's irreplaceable.

Pics are a must.

I can’t wait for Lou to do the bull terrier “calm down”. She’s 4 now and it’s coming but very slowly. At home she rarely moves from her chair/duvet.
Outside, she’s like a 20 week old puppy.

Apologies for the delay in posting pictures, have been busy with Finlay and also decorating last week...

He's settling into Bully life quite well, sleeps a lot, farts a lots, and can be stubborn as hell, but he is adorable and is learning very quickly... He will now sit, give a paw, lie down, wait (sometimes) and is getting much better at recall... oh and he's adorable..

He is very cute, love his colours too but seems an unusual colouring for an EBT, is it?

Regardless it suits him!

The pic of him with his paws up on the sofa reminds me of our Frenchie when he was a pup and couldn't jump up on his own, would stand like that and whine and paw at us until we picked him up hehe

Look forward to more updates too!

Slightly unusual colours I guess, but definitely normal for an EBT, I guess it’s just more common to see white ones, or more commonly now, white with an eye patch.. known as Tri-colour..

Yep, paws up the sofa is normally “please pick me up and give me cuddles, I fancy a nap”, which is exactly what he’s doing right now... snoring of course..!!

Full size, and I think he’s going to be quite a big lad, his Dad sure was and Finlay’s paws are huge..

I’m definitely not going to disagree with that..

He’s spent his first day home alone today. Well I say home alone, he has a dog walker, who was supposed to be with him for an hour today, she stayed just over 2.. as he gets bigger and after his 2nd jabs this weekend, she’ll be picking him up, taking him to spend time with her dogs, walking him, then more time with her dogs, before bringing him home, so he’ll be getting at least 3 hours a day with company... rather than leaving him his crate, he’s been allowed the run off one room - we moved everything we thought he might wreck, left a radio on for him and when I got home, he’s been an angel and wrecked nothing..

The only thing we really need to work on is making him realise that the cat doesn’t want to play with him, although he is getting better with the cat on the whole, so fingers crossed... oh and walking on the lead.. he doesn’t seem to be a fan - hopefully being out with other dogs (and the dog walker is also a trainer) will help..

So pleased we got him though - I grew up with dogs, and have wanted one for years, but my ex was having none of it... now I have Finlay, I don’t know how I went so long without one..
