So, we recently (end of last year) got our first family dog and it's fallen to me to do all (well most) of the walking.

I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying it, but for some bazaar reason I now have an urge to get myself a flat cap for walking him in. No idea why, it just came to me one walk biggrin

So my question is; Do you have a dog walking hat? what is it, and why did you choose it?

Flat cap? Is it a whippet?

I have the usual Thinsulate thermal hat thingy. Nice and toasty it is as well smile

I have a fishing hat which doubles as a dog walking hat. As do the rest of my fishing waterproofs. The only problem is that drab olive isn't the most visible colour to wear to walk on the lane at night.

I've got an Australian cattle ranchers hat in waxed leather, it's ideal for walking the dog as it's water proof & stays on in high winds.

However they have been declared council in another thread so if it wasn't for walking a Staffy I'd have to replace it hehe

Cracking looking dog that.

Another vote for the "chavvy" (really?) bushwacker hat.

Davy Crocket type fur hat for when it's cold, or scarf wrapped round head/ears when it's windy too.

Oooh, I like the look of those.

I'm now looking through the 10 pages of flat caps on there.

Although my dogs are whippets, I don't wear a flat cap. Instead I've got one of those Australian-type wide-brimmed brown leather hats and I think it's one of the most sensible things I've ever purchased. Even when it's tipping down the water just runs off over my coat and away, rather than down my neck. Wear it whenever it's raining now.

No idea why.

In fact I have a ton of hats I don't wear.

I have a woolly hat for days like today and yesterday when it is feckin' cold... It covers my ears to stop them freezing off...

Couldn't agree more, excellent headgear for dog walking.

That's what I'm about to purchase - do you like it?

Can't be doing with waxed hats, make your head sweat & you end up wet anyway!
