I've got an Australian cattle ranchers hat in waxed leather, it's ideal for walking the dog as it's water proof & stays on in high winds.
Couldn't agree more, excellent headgear for dog walking.
Yep me too - also handy for keeping the glare of low sun out of your eyes.

Can't be doing with waxed hats, make your head sweat & you end up wet anyway!
Well I don't, the Aussie one I have has ventilation (its from a hot country) and when I wear a flat hat, that's more likely to be taken off due to being too hot. It also protects you from rain in a way that a flat hat doesn't.

Quite – they are brilliant hats. I even wear mine in 'town', when it's raining. Keeps both hands free.

I've been bought lots of hats over the years. Posh brands including North Face, Tog24, Berghous, Superdry and few others. For actual warmth and comfort, I have found that £5 fleece hats from Tesco are out and out the best. Warm and very comfortable smile

However, I am getting old and I really do fancy a flat hat. I keep getting temped every time I see them in M&S. Wifey isn't keen on me getting one frown

This is the thing. I have woolly hats to keep warn when it's cold. I just have an inexplicable urge for a flat cap biggrin

These are my main dog walking hats, I do understand the flat cap obsession some of you are having, I think once you're over 35 it's inevitable that you will eventually own one

Normally opt for a GM Head Gasket one in the winter, can not be beaten for warmth and quality for the money. In the summer I have a baseball cap. I'm walking the dog, not the cat walk.

It's kinda strange, I thought I was the only one that wore a Dog walking hat. This is my Flat Cap, it's a little like a farmers hat, but it suits me, and my dog too. I clip it to my dogs head sometimes just for fun, pretty sturdy lol, and he's ok with it.
