^ This. I think sometimes we forget that dogs (like humans) have unique personalities and (like humans) don't like everyone/dog they meet - or live with. Some dogs are great pals, some will tolerate each other, some don't get on at all.Sometimes this is the only way, not all dogs will live well together no matter what you do.
I've been through something similar with two females, so you have my sympathy.
The decision was made a bit easier by how nasty this last fight has been.
They go 6 or 7 weeks as best friends, playing with each other, sleeping against each other etc and then BANG.
I cant wait until one of them gets seriously injured,eye or something.
The fact that a George is going to a friend has added to the ease of the decision.
The biggest heart ache is that, going from previous experience, George is such a typical wouldn't hurt a fly gentle, clumsy, bulldozer of a Bulldog and would have been great on his own.
A quick story of our last Bulldog, Moses, as an example of the above description.
On the gentle side, we used to keep ducks and one day on returning home late dusk, we quickly realized a fox had taken several
One of the larger (breed) ducks had flown in to a penned off are in the garden where we used to keep Moses our Bulldog.
When we came out, Moses had the duck by the neck in his mouth and immediately let it go when we arrived. He had simply held it until we got back and she was totally unharmed
Then on the clumsy oaf side, as our cat walked through the penned off are, Mosses, playing hide and seek with the cat, jumped off the roof of the cat kennel directly onto the poor car, totally flattening her and braking one of her legs, all in good fun and no harm meant !!!
I miss Moses and I'm going to miss George.
To cheer myself up, my TVR Tuscan is due back from Blackpool in two weeks after a re-trim and respray then its off to Spain for four weeks

It was because of the point I made in a previous post, "the H/M was on the edge of control and responded to commands to stop fighting, the Bulldog had the red mist and was the fighting machine.Also that we got the Huskey Malamute as a therapy dog for our daughter before we bought the Bulldog.

My Tuscan was up in Blackpool for a respray and retrim.
We're in Spain with her right now soaking up the sun.
On an update on George the Bulldog, Steve our friend and his family adore George.
They have sent us several video's and photo's of him enjoying his new family.
