Our two are getting on a little now and wondered if anyone recommends additions to their diets?
Ones a Chug mail and 8.5 and the others a Britsh bulldog bh who is 7.5yrs old. Both fit and healthy but a little slower nowadays, partly our fault as they are spoilt and don't get long walks much now.
We are using a mixture of chicken (not the water added shyte!), dry Wainrights biscuits and veg, normally broccolii.

Well I think people would be disappointed if I didn't suggest you put them on a raw diet. Also some tumeric to assist with the bones/joints...

Might just be the photo (they do say the camera adds a few pounds) but it looks like adding to there diet might be the opposite of whats required.

The camera does add a few pounds as she is quite slim for a bully. Raw diet, that's interesting and not something we had considered. Any more details or do I just buy rump steak at the local butchers (telcos is shyte!) and throw it to her...? smile

A raw diet is raw meat and bones. You can buy chicken carcasses, beef (or lamb) tripe, you can even get minces (but the dog needs some bones - but not weight bearing bones, to clean their teeth). There is a reasonable amount of research to ensure you feed a balanced diet.

If you are on facebook there are groups called things like Dogs, Raw and Proud, Raw Feeders UK and whatnot. They will help further.

There are suppliers who will give you little packs of food etc but they are more expensive than if you source it yourself.

Ok cheers. She has bones and demolishes them at a great rate of knots with her bite force although they are not fresh raw ones.

Please don't feed the cooked bones you get in pet shops etc...... Ours will eat a lamb/goat/pig head, it is impressive just how strong a dog can bite and chew..
