Nocturnal barking

In older dogs I believe it can be a sign of dementia, or perhaps failing eyesight/hearing.
Certainly Joe as he got older (and he was 12 when I adopted him) would pace, whine and occasionally bark at night. I put him on a supplement designed for aging dogs, and it certainly seemed to help him.

Yes this is about it. I don't like to ignore too much because occasionally it's the "I need to visit the garden" bark. Sometimes it's hard to know which is which.
