Very good and true to our parents rescue lurch.

The whippet a little more refined that spoilt she can't be bothered to thieve.

We have a greyhound and I can certainly relate to some of those things, especially the odd sleeping positions and their ability to like sleeping where you sleep or sit and ideally at the same time. We have have a two seater and three seater sofa for years and the dog has making me seriously consider a 4 seater corner sofa and a three seater sofa, just so I have somewhere to stretch out of an evening!

Thanks for posting OP, what an entertaining and perceptive site laugh

We've had various sighthounds over the years, including a Wolfhound, 2 Lurchers, 2 Greyhounds and we've now got a Whippet that's by far and away the worst behaved of them all biggrin. Still love him to bits though.

That's spot on, my old man had a rescue lurcher years back, they also had three terriers and and Irish fox hound at the same time.

"Tiger", the lurcher was, used to lay flat on his back on the sofa snoring and showing off his tackle, he had the attitude that if it moved chase it, if it didn't move eat it, if it wasn't edible then pee on it hehe

He was utterly uncontrollable, a great character, it the last few months of his life, when I was up there I'd sit on the floor with him (he couldn't make it up onto the sofa by then) - he'd come over and lie on the floor with his head in my lap.

There's a bit of video footing kicking around somewhere with the whole crew resting nicely until the restart of the Coronation Street tune after the adverts.

There was one note in the theme tune which got the fox hound excited and so she'd start to sing - so three terriers, one lurcher and all the adults in the room would start to sing along.

(I guess you had to be there but it was piss funny - the entire pack, humans and
dogs would all howl - once the tune had finished, everyone just went silent).

I'll try and dig out a few pictures of the Coronation Street crew.

One last point, we had a roast chicken dinner one night, the carcass was left on the kitchen table and the dogs put to bed.

In the morning Dad was surprised it had been cleared up and the plate washed, mum was surprised it had been cleared up and the plate washed, Tiger had a twinkle in his eye. He ate the lot and licked the plate clean, he was well able to open doors as seen above.

laugh Brilliant!

I have experienced the pack howl too - in my case, two whippets and two greyhounds. Bloody spooky in the middle of the night though eek

Jet (whippet) sometimes howls in his sleep - it wakes him up and he looks thoroughly confused laugh
