They did our enclosure - brilliant bloke!
We've got it attached to the house enclosing some patio doors. There's a catflap through the door so they can go in and out whenever they like. It's not huge but they love it! Even our outdoor cat when it rains!

Sadly the bird is highly likely to die. Cat saliva contains bacteria that usually kills birds if bitten. Local wildlife hospital always gives birds caught by cats an antibiotic as the first course of action

That looks great Lizzy. smile May I ask how much it cost? We are looking at one about twice the size to cover most of the patio so we can sit in there too. Also did they put the cat flap in the patio door for you?

This is what I'm thinking off the back of the French doors using the aviary. Also interested in the cat flap as I'd like cats to have access without the dogs getting in too.

I've been gathering 'furniture' for my project. Have a wrought iron bistro table and chairs, a bird table, some branches etc.

I'm more excited than the cats!

Ditto! We have a bistro set already that has been sat unused in the garden for years. It is very silly but I am excited about the enclosure being painted a kind of heritage green and painting the bistro set to match! paperbaghehe I also have 6' a driftwood sculpture I need someone with carpentry skills to turn into a cat tree with shelves so it could go out there too. Having a clear roof would also mean we could go out even when it is a bit wet.

Sooo excited bouncebiggrin

I suspect we are not the only place helping her out. The number we called, if she was lost I expect a loving family to be all over us like a rash, however no call back. Could be a good reason, technology and all that however she was in such a mess that any family caring that much probably do not care. She could of course be a long distance missing and lost. Hopefully we can get her scanned next week. That is if her collar saying Princess was correct.

She will not come around the back door and is now curled up on the front door step out the rain sleeping.

Edit. Scrub that. Back under the car where it is wet. Put the outside cat house there as well but nit using it yet.

So they can play in the fresh air without upsetting the neighbours?

How would they upset the neighbours? maybe the neighbours should build one for themselves to sit in, if cats are an issue biggrin

I want my cats to be safe. Not shot at, stolen or run over.

Me too! I've got some old tank parts that I'm using to make a tree out of! And some tyres for swings etc. I converted my old brick barn in to a Gin Parlour earlier this year, I've been trying to come up with a way to make the Cattery run off this but my hen, duck and geese currently have their paddock at the side of it so it's not viable. Yet.

At the expense of their quality of life? No doubt your children are treated in the same manner....

Digging up their flower beds to have a poop, killing the local wildlife on their lawns, running under their tyres...

We play with ours regularly and have lots of up and down space in the house for them to climb, scratch and chase. Having one of these means they can go outside and I don't have to worry about that knock on the door.

Plus two of mine are very scaredy cat rescues and I genuinely don't think they would come back as they are still wary of us sometimes.

ROFL. Sod my kids, I spend all my time and money on my cats!

'Quality of life'. My cats want for nothing. I've let them out, they run back in. The Cattery is to encourage then out whilst being able to feel safe.

We have no problems with the neighbours - they give us updates on what the cays have been up to!
We have 3 cats - two eight year olds who are allowed out, and one 2 year old who is an indoor cat. He's just dizzy and used to run in front of cars. After his sister was killed on the road he's now an indoor cat and he's very happy.
I've also been helping a friend look for her cat who's gone missing - I don't want to go through that again.

It was £660.00 plus £75.00 delivery and installation. I'm sure you could do it cheaper yourselves but it is really well built - Alex likes to climb the wire mesh so it has to be strong! Mark is a really good bloke - good communication, turned upon time, no mess etc.
A few weeks ago Someone posted pictures of a huge one they built themselves.

The catflap has to be done by a glaziers. We needed new patio doors anyway so I don't know how much it would cost separately.

I wouldn't like a pen away from the house that you have to carry them to.

We couldn't have a bigger one because the garden is at a higher level, but now we know they use it I'm thinking of having an extension onto the lawn....
