It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
Sorry for your loss, I hope you can take some consolation in that she had a quick death and probably wouldn't have really know about it.
Gave me a lump in my throat reading that, we lost out massive moggy two years ago and even though I've since moved out and got my own house, I still look for him sitting in his favourite bush when I go back home.
They really do leave a massive hole in your life.

I'm just glad it happened when my OH was home and could hold her. I wouldn't have wanted her to pass on her own whilst we were out. Me and my girl are not married yet and we don't have kids yet... B was our baby. That was our family. We just sat for most of the night together, with her in her box, on our lap. Sounds sad having a dead cat on your lap, but she just looked so peaceful and its what she would be doing were she alive.Gave me a lump in my throat reading that, we lost out massive moggy two years ago and even though I've since moved out and got my own house, I still look for him sitting in his favourite bush when I go back home.

Very tough to say good bye at the crematorium this morning, but we hope to have the ashes back tomorrow and we'll sort out something fitting to keep them in.
The phone call I got with my OH sobbing down the phone won't be easy to forget in a hurry.

Bert's back!!
Tell us; It was that trail of cat treats you happened to leave outside his old house?
Honestly, I was genuinely happy that the other family had been reunited with Bert. They obviously adored him. But deep down I knew that pretty much his entire conscious memory was centred on our house, and that of our neighbour. And that he'd take the first opportunity to try and make it back here. It was inevitable. Tell us; It was that trail of cat treats you happened to leave outside his old house?
I think the next best thing for them, if they can't realistically keep him, is to know that he's safe and well. And when I say well, I mean that he gets fed fillet bloody steak and fresh ham by our neighbour, is cuddled relentlessly by my wife, and has his own bedroom. He has a better life than I do.

Thanks for the kind words all.
Heh, this part of PH is alright.... I think elsewhere I would have been told to MTFU by now.
Gutted for you mate. My little female ex-stray Dora sounds really similar. A cuddly, deeply loyal and food obsessed ball of lovely-ness.I absolutely dread the moment she passes on. I'll be inconsolable. Heh, this part of PH is alright.... I think elsewhere I would have been told to MTFU by now.
I suppose all I can say is that it sounded quick. Very little suffering. That's something, surely. Just remember the good times, and never forget that she would have loved every moment of being with you guys. Especially breakfast and dinner!
Found these two licking drips from the water cooler in one of our stores buildings at work. We normally have a few strays knocking around and two that are given food/water by our security guys. These 2 seem to be new and haven't worked out the feeding regime so I at least taught them how to drink from a cup
Spotted one seemed a cool little guy. The black and white one has an eye infection. Couldn't catch him though to investigate further.

Shirt - Well done to you and your work for looking after them. If you contact your local Cats Protection League they will send someone to catch them and take them to be neutered / treated. If you want them to be released elsewhere they can also arrange this. Although you can keep them as mousers if your employers have need for them and are willing.
We're in Dubai so a little different. As far as I am aware there are no mice here and no CPL. The cats are tolerated by all concerned and sometimes adopted (my colleague took in a fully blind one last year and most cat people have at least one ex stray). I'd take one myself but had to rehome my own mog (herself an ex stray who had become used to the good life!) last year as I travel so often.

Check with Feline Friends mate - I think they've been temporarily shut down by the government at the moment (some rubbish about unlicensed charities) but will hopefully re-open again very soon. Our two were rescue cats from them, they might pay for them to be spayed - do they have a 'V' shape nick in one of their ears? That's usually a sign they've already been done.
