It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
Heh, well today my OH got to work and upon getting out of the car in the works car park, a lovely young white and black cat came running over to greet her demanding strokes. I mean I don't believe in spiritual mumbo jumbo but you have to say, you couldn't have made it up. I mean it could have been any cat in the world, but it wasn't, it was white and black just like B.
It made her cry, but I hope more tears of happiness. I told her B has sent her friends to cheer her up.

Obviously not scared though...like a homing beacon for the nearest human.
I am finding I'm spoiling my cats rather a lot. Many of my friends are becoming Grandparents, where I'm really not looking forward to that as I'm still too busy partying!
I've bought Frida some 'girls own' toys. No boys allowed.
If the weather holds I'm going to start work on the Cattery. I've bought some wood and wire to build a frame/roof. Hopefully will start dismantling my friends old aviary on Friday.

I find our Bengal struggles on a lead, loses his balance and walks with his tummy on the ground.
Have given up and just let him out in the garden with a little bit of supervision.
One quick question, when they bring home little gifts that still squeak and run about, what do you do?
Take it off them and then kill it or leave for kitty to torture it to death?
I can't bring myself to do it so just let Indy go for it, I shut the door while he does his thing!
He is currently chucking a bit fat vole around the garden and really is rather chuffed with himself!

We now try and catch the cats before they can bring them in as we control when they go out and come in. Live stuff gets chucked over the fence dead or dying stuff goes in the bin or compost heap, whichever is closest.
We've had mice running around the lounge and half eaten ones left on the sofa - they only seem to eat the head and top - leaving the back end - must stop when they get to the guts I suppose.

The little corpses and near dead go on the garden wall for the local birds...Have given up and just let him out in the garden with a little bit of supervision.

They hang around waiting!
I have had to keep varying the location I store their dry food in after they opened a sealed plastic box storage box and tore in to the cardboard biscuit one.
Lebowski has a passion for Cheese. He knows it's kept in the fridge. He's on the verge of figuring out how to open it... Scary times.
Love the cat wheel - do they use it? I'm hoping to make one eventually. All the ones I've seen on sale are rather costly.
Echo (The big brown) loves it, will jog contentedly for a while purring away but prefers when we get involved and give her a canter or gallop. She barks away at us happily whilst legging it around. She also chucks herself into it every morning when I wake up having an excited early morning gallop as I come down the stairs. The little silver will go on now and again but isn't that fussed unfortunately.
Given they're indoor cats I wanted the ability for them to stretch their legs more than just playing fetch with springs so it was an early investment from Maclaw I'm very pleased with it but we're in a rented house at the moment with that being basically a spare room. If we ever buy our own place I'm a bit worried we won't have the space for it given local house prices. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!
Edit: Also both of ours are total fiends for cheese, they go nuts for it. We've currently hidden their kibble in a Tupperware in the microwave for the same reason!

We have just got some stray cats in at work that couldn't be home'd / nobody wanted as they are ferral (?). They are up the HWRC (or the tip) , have a cage to live in and wont be interacting with the public during the day (so I am told). They were brought in to help keep the rat population down with all the household waste etc...
With ferals. Treat them with respect and in a friendly fashion, feed occasionally, do not attempt to be overly pally (they'll tear your ears off), over time if you treat them right they may come to trust you enough to come within 20 feet of them. Do not expect this. Take care, do not approach closer than they want, if they need veterinary attention buy rhino hide gloves and kevlar body armour.
They'll be entertaining though.
