I put a joint of Beef in my slow cooker this afternoon. Lebowski, my Bengal, has worked out how to remove the lid of said slow cooker. That's my winter menu ruined.

hehe

Yup we have the same problem. I now have to take the slow cooker into my man-cave and close the door. Crazy the work-arounds they create.

Re the beer, thankfully they've not worked that out yet, I suspect that would be the end-times indeed!

yikes

I have had to keep varying the location I store their dry food in after they opened a sealed plastic box storage box and tore in to the cardboard biscuit one.

Lebowski has a passion for Cheese. He knows it's kept in the fridge. He's on the verge of figuring out how to open it... Scary times.

Love the cat wheel - do they use it? I'm hoping to make one eventually. All the ones I've seen on sale are rather costly.
My friend's Birman has actually figured out how to open their fridge the little tike hehe

My parents old Siamese and Burmese were able to do that.
Child locks on the fridge were needed.
They could also open the door to the garage.
Crafty buggers!

Our Bengal can open the inside doors and has a go at the one to the garden.
He moves the door stops to get behind certain doors.
Has mastered the bathroom light on a pull cord.
Can get out if his harness.

He is just a big heavy bundle of mischief.

Just returned from the vet with mine. Inoculations, worm tablet, Advocate anti-parasite drops six months supply, Plaque-Off, and a check over. £101.73

He'd better eat his damned dinner! He's sulking under the bed right now...

So as I'm now living in Australia and we have our own house we needed another cat. After Loki the Bengal in London we decided to rescue a cat. We didn't want as mad a cat again as he was a one of a kind.

We visited a few animal shelters and settled on this little bugger. He's 6 years old and was found as a stray. He was microchipped and they contacted his owners who are now overseas and said to please put him up for adoption. He had to have his front teeth removed due to an infection, it adds so much more to facial expressions.

So I welcome to our world of crazy cat people Benedict Cumbercat

With ferals. Treat them with respect and in a friendly fashion, feed occasionally, do not attempt to be overly pally (they'll tear your ears off), over time if you treat them right they may come to trust you enough to come within 20 feet of them. Do not expect this. Take care, do not approach closer than they want, if they need veterinary attention buy rhino hide gloves and kevlar body armour.

They'll be entertaining though.

This is all very true, this is our Jasper who was just as you describe. Five years later he turned into the most affectionate cat you could Imagine, only with us but well worth the time and effort.

Mercury (15 years old and feeling the colder weather in his slightly arthritic back legs) has taken over my 5 year-old daughter's school homework of a sea habitat made out of a converted shoe box and has made it his own little bed.

The sea in the box was created from shredded blue paper, which Mercury seems to like.

Placed innocently on a lounge coffee table, Mercury has taken over residence and uses this box daily for tightly curled-up sleeps whenever a lap isn't available.

So, rather than take said box up to my daughter's bedroom in an effort to keep things tidy, it sits almost permanently in the lounge as a nod towards Mercury's comfort and wellbeing. It helps that the Autumn sun often flows into this area of the lounge.

Busy day for Moglet. Poop (twice) then eat, next chase the spiders/woodlice but that was too hard as it involved moving. Then back to washing/sleeping upside down in the sun on the sofa.... Oh to be a cat!!

Caspar, our black moggie had 4 teeth out a fortnight ago (509.00) and the vet sent a sample off for a biopsy as he was a bit worried on what he found, results are that Caspar has an aggressive form of cancer in his lower jaw 😭

Tuesday we are taking him to a specialist vet in Essex for a CT scan to see whether it is operable or not, it will depend on the spread of it.
The wife and I are dreading it as he is the first cat we have had who loves us both the same, he is being fed fillet steak at the moment to keep some weight on him.
