Lebowski sometimes actually terrifies me. He's been acting strange tonight. Slamming doors and thumping around upstairs (or at least that's how it sounded) Just came to bed and there he is. He moved as soon as I sat on the bed. I pull the duvet back turn away to put something on my dressing table... And there he is again. I'm scared to go to sleep!

Alvin in the bath, kind of. She (I know!) likes to sit in the corner occasionally.

She looks just like our old girl who passed away twenty-five years ago.

Dexter is now so incredibly agitated about not being able to go outside frown

He sits and cries and cries at the doors/windows, and I feel terrible!

I think where he settled in literally immediately, making the place his own in no time at all, he's now more than ready to take it to the outside!

The cats home advised us four weeks before we let him go outside. It's been two now (on Monday) and I'm not sure there's any way at all we can make it to four weeks. He is very stressed about wanting to be able to go out.

We are torn about what to do. What do you think in your experiences? Go for it? Wait some more? I was thinking about trying a harness so we could take him into the garden without the fear that he'll vault a fence and never be seen again.

He was neutered 5 weeks ago for info.

Stick him on a harness. What harm can it do?

How enclosed/safe is your garden? Cover his paws in butter and go out with him. You have to let go sometime. And rather sooner before he starts getting stressed and forming bad habits.

It's surrounded by 6ft fencing on all sides. Obviously if he wants to jump the fence there's very little we can do to stop him, but as you say you have to take the leap of faith at some point. There is another cat in the house that backs on to ours and he is often spotted walking along the fence panels and very occasionally enters our garden.

Lebowski is so attentive. If I say to him "I want a word" he comes running and purring/being vocal, ask for a kiss and he rubs his face against mine, ask for a 'proper kiss' and he kisses on the lips. He still bites and paws at me every morning at 5am mind.

I'm fascinated by him so much so I'm going to look at taking on another...

yes

And the first few times when you do let him out, don't feed him so he goes out hungry, he won't go too far them...

Would Leb want another cat intruding on his slave?

I've already got another cat, she was here first. I think he's softening.

I'm now also looking at converting my Summerhouse in to a Cattery of sorts by putting an extension on it. By means of an aviary. If you get me. It'll be nice for him to play in during the day.
