We have a cat-shaped gap in our lives this evening...
Sadly we had to get Tigger put down today - she had been suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, and despite medication and diet alteration, went downhill quickly this week.
Had a glass or two of wine to toast to her memory. Looking back on the good parts of her life: she was adopted from a cat rescue centre by the mother-in-law, who absolutely doted on her, then when MiL passed away we inherited Tiggs. There were some 'entertaining' moments integrating her with our existing two cats, a pair of boisterous males from the same litter, but the three of them found an accommodation. She loved getting the freedom of access to a garden at will via cat flap, and enjoyed nothing more than sitting on Mrs OH's mouse-hand as she tried to work smile
She got to 15 years, and it was good quality life, which is as much as we could ask for.
RIP Tigger

Sitting on the mouse hand is a familiar cat trait
RIP tigger, our first cat ended up called tigger as my sister mispronounced tiger….

Oh and going for the mouse hand is an amateur move, this is how the professionals do it

Sorry to hear about tigger having recently had to put our boy to sleep with similar issues few weeks back such a hard thing to do. Leaves a massive hole and emptyness but the memories will soon bring you comfort and give them the best life possible.

Rest easy tigger.

Our Fin (loves to absorb my body warmth as soon as I vacate the sofa) laugh

Found him on the cul de sac Sept 2022; no idea where he appeared from; we did a lot of asking around to see if anyone had lost a kitten. Nothing no one came back to us; so he's been with us since

This is him & our Oscar who we've had since Sept 2008

He's a grumpy sod generally; more so with the wife hehe He's fine with me; but she's a static magnet and he gets his ears fried regularly haha

My wife and I wanted to go for a long walk yesterday, but Gizmo had other ideas, and followed us around.

Every time we walked past a way back home (there's several routes we can take), he'd run up that path, and then look at us as if to say "why aren't you going home?"

After a night on the lash with his mollies, Pedro is back, fed, and wanting sunlight. Image straight off the camera, just cropped.

One of my old cats (the lovely Mia) used to walk the 300m to our village pub with me, then wait outside, getting strokes from the smokers outside, then toddling back with me.

Don’t get her wrong, she wasn’t soft, absolute badass rabbiter.

In the dog house ( or woodys castle ) today after he went into
Fiull lion attack mode at bil last night , even my intervention didn’t work , woody was having none of it & carried on his attack on the bil ( 6ft + , 18 st ) & even he was taking a backward step .
So little lad had decided I’ll stay out the way until they forget 😂😂( wife gave him a big cuddle last night & said nasty men about bil & me ) , can’t do a thing wrong with wife he can’t .

Don't worry, my teeth are just fine. I've just lost my Tractive, but hey, I never liked wearing it in the first place.

Our little kitten Pinot really isn't so little any more...

He's now 3.1 kilos at 6 months old, and going by the rate he's going through pouches of Sheba won't be staying there.

So Enzo was missing for breakfast and dinner today, and has been out the house for about 18 hours. We couldn't find him anywhere. We have had a whole day of walking the local roads and fields, checking under hedges, knocking on doors but he had, simply, disappeared.

At 7.30 tonight, he sauntered in through the cat flap without a care in the world, completely unaware of the emotional rollercoaster he had caused. Mrs P and me are in bits, I don't think we've ever been so relieved.

He's now in his favourite chair, receiving a whole body lick wash from his brother. Cats eh.
