Mine are on all raw. Pretty much from when they started eating solids. Tripe, neck, bone, any offel we can get really. The love frozen raw fish when its hot. They have had a lot of fish recently so the gsd needs mouth mints. Only had a shop cooked bone once. I took one smell and threw it in the bin gave them a raw one in stead.

Leos Hairybeast?

Oh, and to the chap above, always raw, never cooked bones. I have no idea why they sell cooked knuckles etc in pet shops but they are a no-no.

My hound gets a good quality dry complete diet with added wet food. For treats, he gets raw chicken portions. Sometimes the wet food is Barking Heads or Nature Diet, but most of the time he gets some raw meat or offal. I know some people don't agree with feeding raw and dry together, but I am sceptical of that theory. He turned his nose up at raw chicken liver the other week, the ungrateful sod. But liver simmered for a bit in water is apparently another matter entirely, and results in the biscuits being devoured as enthusiastically as the meat.

Raw liver is quite rich and can cause diarrhoea, has to be introduced in very deals amounts, may be he knew that smile.

He's had it before, but pork or beef, not chicken. I did tell him that there are starving dogs out there that would kill for a dinner like that, but he wasn't having it! He definitely seems to prefer it cooked, though.

Indeed. Perhaps 5% of a meal in terms of weight and no more than 3 times a week really............

Of course, you can boil it, then once it is "solid" slice it into little cubes and bake it for a couple of hours and it will be lovely treats which survive a few months in the fridge....
