Having had a false widow in our garage last year, today, at our lockup on a farm, this was waiting for me just inside the door. We also have a bright green one somewhere.

I flipped it over and it played dead for about 30 mins. It looks like an evil mask when turned over.

I tried and failed to get an idea of scale with OPs pics, but I'll bet it assumed you were a bird when you capsized it and so it showed its angry cat face to scare you. tongue out

Can you please clarify where you are so we all know to never go anywhere near there.

Ever.

I was trying to move it away from the door on a piece of paper so as not to tread on it and flipped it as I tried. It then did what you see above.

I didn't even kill the false widow we found. I let that go in the woods at the end of the road (bad idea?)

Nah, good khama to move it on. I used to kill most spiders I found in the house but now only the quick house spiders cop it.
