I can't offer any science based advice, but my bullmastiff suddenly developed a similar 'non interest' in food when he was about 5. I tried all sorts of different foods.Eventually he came round and now he eats as you would expect. I don't know exactly why but I suspect that it was a combination of things that caused him to lose appetite. The combination that eventually worked was a new bowl ,a bigger stainless one as opposed to plastic.combination of wet and dried food mixed together as opposed to one or the other,I also raised his bowl up slightly. He also seemed to prefer a larger meal first thing and a smaller portion late afternoon. It also could be hormonal if he's still intact and you've got a bh on heat close by ? Hope you get him sorted quickly.

We have a big dog - 75 kg mastiff.

He will go for days disinterested in food, just looking at his meals and have a few mouthsful. Then will eat everything for a day or so, then pick and choise

We also have a couple of small dogs who would do a Mr Creosote if they had the choice.

Maybe reduce the amount of food he's given?
