My OCD needs to know what the button underneath the spider says
"W / VA" would be my guess. Looks like the controller for a motor drive?

Could be talking mince.
VA - Vehicle Actuation. It's a traffic signal controller, if you look at one you'll see a flap on it somewhere and that's what is behind

They all come with a free steatoda? That's dedication.

At the risk of turning this into the 'Show us your spiders' thread - I found this big lad lurking in my woodstore in January. Gave me a bit of a fright!

To give an idea of scale, those are oversized Victorian bricks he is hanging on to.

Can anyone tel me what kind of spider it is/how deadly/should I move house?

I had one of these on the stairs in our house until the cat pounced on it and ate it!!! It was about 4" in from end to end!

Had to google steatoda ha

On this site there's 4 cases (big junction) and they were in all of them. Find lots of insects/animals in the cases as they're nice and warm

5mm squares on the bottom of that 'bug catcher/viewer'

Abseiling to freedom from the top of the wheelie-bin! This was the first picture I think. I found it on the bin so moved it to where it wasn't in danger of getting squashed.

Cute! She brought her 'angry eyes'. Attempting to escape her (brief) incarceration in the bug catcher.

Found this bad boy on the landing. Pretty rude, as it goes, as he kicked the bathroom door in while I was on the throne! Three times in four days we ejected similar looking spiders from the same part of the house, despite them being deposited 50ft from the house. I know they're likely different individuals, but damn it if you don't end up paranoid about how determined they are to get back inside the house!

I love spiders. Just not on the skirting boards, or on the coving high up behind the telly!

These are my favourite type. No webs, they just sit out on these leaves, usually under another leaf in the shadows, then BOOM! They pounce on any winged insect dopey enough to land within reach. Really pretty things, ranging from almost black to pale brown, with stripes from white to yellow. I'm led to believe that they are 'Marsh' or 'Water' spiders, specialised with six legs out front to 'feel' the surface of water for prey. Thing is - I've no water in my garden, so I'm not sure if that's correct.

This wee chap was my all time favourite. The poor thing only had three legs, but he seemed to survive OK on greenfly. He's chomping on one in this picture.

Sorry for spamming the thread with photos!

Smiler.

I found a tiny one of these on the car today. Is was so small, I thought I'd make up for it with this massive pic.

Green Orb Spider.

Never knew such a thing existed.
