Jean is in season, what do?

Interesting thread; Daphne is 6m old beginning of July and we want to get her done, is it best to let her have a season or do it before.

Also Barry is castrated, was done about 6 weeks ago, when Daphne comes in to season will he still show interest?

It would be best to ask your vets and see what they prefer to do/advise.

Pre season should be fine just need to get her booked in promptly as small dogs come into season sooner. Our female whippet was done pre season.

Jean has been done.

Now what to do with her.

First thing she wanted to do when getting back that evening was run out and play. If you don't hold her down she'll jump over the settee as usual rather than walk around d all she wants to do is fight Logan

She is gong to be a nightmare. How do you stop an unstoppable play machine that never gets tired and is full of energy from running and jumping around? For two weeks and then short lead walks? It's going to kill her.

Valium at the right dose!? (wrong dose can make them more hyped up!) You should talk to your vet and see if they have any ideas.

(if it helps 10days should be long enough as long as no issues in between time!)

3x15 min walks are ok until the 10 days is over and if all healed by then you can work back to her normal exercise over the 10-14 day poet op time frame and lots of mental stimulation. A plug in pet remedy may add a calming influence (it has valerian in ot)

Just checked with other half and the advice apparently was this.( I wasn't there I could not do it)

5 days there is a check up ( so tommorow as was done Monday) if all ok then short lead walks for two weeks, ramping up excercose from then.

You wouldn't have known she'd just had surgery I thought she'd be moping around for a few days she didn't give a st it was just an annoying pause in play time for her.
