It's with a very heavy heart that I'm sad to report we had to have our gorgeous boy PTS today.

Rest in peace puppy, you brightened our lives for nearly 14 wonderful years, we shared many adventures & you have left us all with many very happy memories.

Just a shame it has to hurt so very much.

I am really, really sorry.

They take a piece of your heart when they go frown

I am so sorry to hear that.

I know how they can crawl into your heart (typing this as my cocker spaniel Bee is snoring away asleep at my hip) so my thoughts are with you at this difficult time frown

Terrible news, so sorry to hear that Murci. I'm sure you know deep down it was the decision he wanted you to make for him if he was truly suffering though so try not to beat yourself up!

Yes, seen that before, now all sat here in floods of tears (well, more than before).

Gutted for you OP frown having been there 18 months ago with my oldie, vestibular episode finished the stubborn little monster off and was balling my eyes out for days afterwards frown

Its not going to be easy for the next few weeks, the lack of those pacing paws will make the house feel empty frown

I felt really guilty as it was just 9 days later that I went to see my new pup, but it was one of my best choices, now have a 2nd one who is 14 weeks old, just dont not go for another 4 legged monster, it was great therapy for me smile

Yesterday I just about coped, our lad was in bits as was my missus.

Missus woke crying this morning, it was only about an hour ago it really hit me, waves of sadness washing over me.

We have a westie & a couple of cats, they are wondering what's going on I think but them being here helps.

Having other animals helps, but the loss still hurts like hell

Probably worse for your lad as he probably knew your dog all his life.

Also what was the little chap's name?

Time is a great healer but grief can still bite you on the bum years later

I am so very sorry to read this. I completely know how you feel right now. I cried everyday for 2 weeks after we lost Jimmy then it stopped being everyday. It took a long time but eventually I was able to think of him with a smile instead of a tear (still catches me occasionally though!) It will take you and your family time. My thoughts are with you all.

Yes I'm sorry to read about this too. Its a brought a tear to my eye. We have recently been in a similar scenario and had to have our 14 year old cocker pts just before Christmas. Our dog suffered from dementia. Hardly a day goes past without my wife talking about him and sometimes she's quite tearful. Thats a lovely photo.
